Our mission extends beyond representing our clients. We’re engaged in a number of pro bono projects to support whistleblowers worldwide.
Stephen M. Kohn and the partners at Kohn, Kohn and Colpainto have given numerous U.S. sponsored seminars and presentations on topics related to international whistleblowing and anti-corruption.
Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto is proud to be offering pro bono support to a whistleblower-led campaign to make National Whistleblower Day permanent. Since 2011, attorneys at Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto have worked hard to ensure that the historic passage of America’s first whistleblower law by the Founders of the United States is celebrated and its impact is understood.
In addition to advocacy efforts centered in the United States, the attorneys at Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto have worked pro bono to push for stronger whistleblower protections across the globe.
The attorneys at Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto successfully argued cases which established precedents protecting whistleblowers from being silenced by non-disclosure agreements. Furthermore, KKC’s pro bono team advocated for the SEC and CFTC Whistleblower Programs to institute rules banning restrictive non-disclosure agreements.
Since the Tax Relief and Health Care Act established the modern IRS Whistleblower Program in 2006, the pro bono team at Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto has engaged in consistent advocacy to ensure that the program works to the best of its abilities.
Our team, working with the National Whistleblower Center and Whistleblower Network News, led a successful grassroots campaign that pushed for the passage of the Anti-Money Laundering Improvement Act. Continue reading to learn more about this pro bono effort.
Our pro bono team has helped lead the fight to pass amendments which would strengthen the False Claims Act (FCA). Furthermore we've filed numerous amicus curiae briefs with the Supreme Court championing FCA whistleblowers' rights.
Our firm has worked directly with the Congressional offices responsible for oversight and funding of the CFTC’s Whistleblower Office in order to insure that the program will continue to be an immense success.
