Apple faces probe over whether it retaliated against whistleblower

The US Department of Labor is investigating Apple following accusations that the company fired an employee who had previously reported workplace harassment and unsafe work conditions. Ashley Gjovik, a 35-year-old senior engineering program manager with Apple for six years, was fired in September after accusations of leaking confidential information.
