Are You Eligible for an SEC Whistleblower Award? See the SEC Notices of Covered Actions for February 2020

Every month, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) publishes Notices of Covered Actions for each SEC action where a final judgment or order results in monetary sanctions exceeding $1 million. SEC whistleblowers can receive monetary awards between 10-30% of the sanctions obtained by the SEC.
Subject to the Final Rules, individuals who voluntarily provided the SEC with original information after July 21, 2010, that led to the successful enforcement of a covered action are eligible to apply for a whistleblower award. Once the SEC posts a Notice of Covered Action, the claimant has 90 calendar days to apply for an award.
Whistleblowers who want to apply for an award must fill out an official Form WB-APP provided by the SEC Whistleblower Office.
The SEC established the SEC Whistleblower Office as part of the Wall Street reform law, known as the Dodd-Frank Act. Financial awards are available to both U.S. citizens and non-U.S. citizens who report violations of the Securities Exchange Act and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, amongst other laws.
