Qui Tam

Qui tam is a provision of the False Claims Act (FCA) allowing whistleblowers to report fraud on behalf of the US government and receive a share of the recovered funds. Fraud includes abuse of disaster relief loans, over billing, kickbacks, false statements, and upcoding in health care, among many others. Qui tam relators can file employment discrimination claims in court if they experience retaliation.

It is one of the most effective whistleblower laws for fight fraud involving government monies.
