Non-Prosecution Whistleblower Programs

In 2024, a number of U.S. Attorney Offices launched Non-Prosecution Whistleblower Programs. Under these programs, individuals who voluntarily self-disclose criminal conduct in certain non-violent offenses may be offered non-prosecution agreements in exchange for their self-disclosure and cooperation.

In order to qualify under these programs, the Government must not have been previously aware of the criminal conduct that is the subject of the disclosure and the disclosure must relate to the actions of individuals who are equally or more culpable than the whistleblower.

These programs are separate from the DOJ Whistleblower Award Program. Non-Prosecution Whistleblower Programs do not offer monetary awards.
