Kate serves as the International Liaison at Kohn, Kohn, & Colapinto, forging relationships with anti-corruption civil society groups worldwide, advancing best-practice whistleblower policies abroad, and supporting KKC’s international casework. She is simultaneously pursuing a joint JD/PhD at the University of California Berkeley, focusing on the relationship between displacement and environmental corruption. Kate formerly served as a Law Clerk and Policy Coordinator at KKC, conducting research on transnational corruption cases, coordinating international programming, and managing policy initiatives in collaboration with the National Whistleblower Center. Kate graduated cum laude from Georgetown University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service with honors in her major, Culture & Politics. At Georgetown, Kate conducted extensive research on the efficacy of human rights laws in protecting against environmental injustices associated with green development. She then completed a master’s at the University of Oxford where she studied how corporations engaging in corrupt, illegal, and violatory cobalt mining practices are creating a crisis of displacement in the DRC.
