Whistleblower Attorney to Discuss Federal Whistleblower Protections at Congressional Hearing

Published On: January 28th, 2020

Today, whistleblower attorney David K. Colapinto, will testify in front of the United States House of Representatives Subcommittee on Government Operations to discuss the importance of protecting federal whistleblowers.

Colapinto, who is a partner at whistleblower law firm Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto, and serves as general counsel to the National Whistleblower Center (NWC), will join a bipartisan panel of speakers on “Protecting Those Who Blow the Whistle on Government Wrongdoing.”

In his testimony, Colapinto will examine laws and policies behind existing whistleblower protections for federal employees, specifically laws protecting whistleblower confidentiality and the lack of access to federal courts.

A report from the National Whistleblower Center that supports the need for federal employee whistleblowers to have their retaliation claims heard in U.S. District Court will accompany Colapinto’s testimony.

Colapinto will make recommendations of Congressional fixes to strengthen existing whistleblower protection laws for federal whistleblowers.
