Theranos Whistleblower and Leading Whistleblower Attorney to Speak at Susilo Institute Panel

On April 27, whistleblower attorney Stephen M. Kohn will speak at “Whistleblowers: Capitalism’s Protectors,” a virtual event hosted by Boston University’s Susilo Institute for Ethics in the Global Economy.
Kohn, founding partner of Kohn, Kohn, & Colapinto LLP, has practiced whistleblower law since 1984. A graduate of Boston University himself, Kohn has represented the biggest clients in money laundering and tax whistleblowing, and helped draft key whistleblower legislation and regulatory rules.
“Whistleblowers are essential in ensuring fair competition so that corrupt actors do not obtain unfair market advantages,” Kohn said.
Kohn will be joined by Erica Blachman Hitchings, Adjunct Professor of Boston University’s School of Law and attorney at the Whistleblower Law Collaborative, as well as Tyler Shultz, key whistleblower in the collapse of health tech company Theranos.
Dave Epstein, Executive Director of the Susilo Institute, will be moderating the panel.
“The Susilo Institute for Ethics in a Global Economy, a part of Boston University Questrom School of Business examines issues and explores solutions to global ethical challenges in business,” Epstein said. “I can think of nothing more in line with ethical business practices than protecting and encouraging those who stand up for doing the right thing and holding our business leaders to an ethically high standard.”
The Susilo Institute, founded in 2014, “aims to be a recognized thought leader and act as a platform for ethical business actions and responsible leadership with a global perspective”.
“We are excited to have Attorney and author Stephen Kohn on our webinar along with Tyler Shultz of Theranos fame, and Adjunct Professor and attorney Erica Blachman Hitchings,” Epstein said. “I am looking forward to having a robust discussion of whistleblowing from Stephen’s and his new handbook’s perspective along with those of Tyler and Erica.”
