Senator McCain Urges VA to Investigate Allegations of Whistleblower Retaliation
On February 6, Senator John McCain wrote a letter urging Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary Robert McDonald to examine recent allegations made by an employee at the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PVAHCS) that he was subjected to harassment and intimidation by superiors and later placed on administrative leave after raising concerns over the PVAHCS’s mismanaged care of patients at risk of suicide.
