Leading Whistleblower Law Firm Endorses National Whistleblower Center’s UN Proposal

Leading Whistleblower Law Firm Endorses National Whistleblower Center’s Un Proposal
Published On: November 7th, 2025

Since its founding, Kohn, Kohn, & Colapinto LLP (KKC) has collaborated with the National Whistleblower Center (NWC) on numerous precedent-setting advocacy campaigns to strengthen whistleblower laws and protect those who report corruption. This year, NWC will return to the United Nations Anti-Corruption Conference to advocate for stronger international whistleblower programs and greater protections for whistleblower rights. KKC firmly supports NWC’s proposal to the UN to implement effective prosecutions for international corruption activities, including foreign bribery and money laundering.

The 11th Session of the Conference of the State Parties (CoSP11) to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) will take place from December 14 to 19 in Doha, Qatar. CoSP is the main governing body of UNCAC, bringing countries together to support the implementation of the Convention, share best practices, and adopt new measures to improve international anti-corruption frameworks. As the UNCAC is the only legally binding universal anti-corruption instrument, the NWC’s proposal to implement proven-effective whistleblower measures is of utmost importance.

KKC’s founding partner, Stephen Kohn, states, “The NWC’s proposal addresses all of the deficiencies in the current international anti-corruption enforcement. If adopted, it will play a significant role in effectively combating bribery and money laundering worldwide.”

KKC has firsthand experience aiding the power of whistleblowers in combating global corruption. Our lawyers have represented international whistleblowers in some of the largest cases in history, including Danske Bank whistleblower Howard Wilkinson, who exposed a $230 billion money-laundering scheme, and an anonymous Greek whistleblower who proved that the Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis paid millions in bribes to illegally market drugs. These cases were brought under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), which serves as a key example of the successful anti-corruption frameworks advocated by NWC and the necessity of whistleblower confidentiality protections.

To learn more about NWC’s mission to protect whistleblowers worldwide, register for the special webinar explaining whistleblowers’ rights under critical whistleblower laws on November 18, 2025, at 10am EST. KKC whistleblower attorneys Stephen Kohn and Kayla Svihovec will explain how whistleblowers who report crimes such as money laundering and foreign bribery can qualify for full protection under laws like the FCPA and the Anti-Money Laundering Whistleblower Act.

The webinar is part of the NWC’s ongoing training sessions to address how whistleblowers and NGOs can work together to effectively and safely disclose corruption.
