KKC Whistleblower Attorney to Speak at Anti-Corruption Conference in Greece

WASHINGTON, D.C. | FEBRUARY 1, 2019 — Top whistleblower attorney Stephen M. Kohn will deliver the keynote address at a ground-breaking anti-corruption conference to be held in Attica, Greece.

The 1st International Conference on Anticorruption Policies & Anti-Bribery Management Systems is co-organized by the Hellenic Anti-Corruption Organization and the Anti-Bribery Academy International and endorsed by the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece, the TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS, the Global Infrastructure Anti-Corruption Center.

The conference will be held on February 2, 2019, at the DAIS Cultural Convention Center, 151 Mesogeion Str., Maroussi 151 26 Attica, Greece from 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Eastern European time zone (GMT+2).

Kohn will speak about the transnational reach of U.S. whistleblower laws and the current status of whistleblower protection in the EU.

“Laws must be enacted that protect the confidentiality of whistleblowers, incentivize and protect employees to report frauds and reward those whose information results in successful prosecutions,” says Kohn.

Kohn is a founding partner in the qui tam whistleblower law firm Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto and the Executive Director of the National Whistleblower Center. His primary litigation focus includes representing international whistleblowers under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, tax fraud whistleblowers, qui tam reward laws, the False Claims Act, SEC whistleblowers and IRS whistleblowers. In 2012, the firm obtained the largest qui tam whistleblower reward given to a single individual in history ($104 million to UBS whistleblower Bradley Birkenfeld and Kohn represents Danske Bank Whistleblower Howard Wilkinson. In 2018, Kohn was invited to give testimony before the Danish and EU Parliaments as well as the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
