Experts to Discuss International Anti-Corruption Potential of DOJ Whistleblower Program

On April 23, Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto (KKC) and the National Whistleblower Center (NWC) are holding a free webinar “Establishing an Effective DOJ Whistleblower Rewards Program to Fight Corruption Worldwide” to discuss the steps the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) must take in order for its new whistleblower program to be an effective tool in the global fight against corruption.
KKC founding partner Stephen M. Kohn and Executive Director of NWC Siri Nelson will discuss how the DOJ whistleblower rewards program currently in development could be transformative in efforts to combat corruption across the globe. The program will cover asset forfeiture cases, offering whistleblower incentives in an area vital to fight corruption.
Kohn and Nelson will also outline the best-practices which the DOJ needs to incorporate in order for the program to be successful. KKC and NWC are urging the DOJ to model the program on the highly successful Dodd-Frank programs at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Through the webinar, KKC and NWC are hoping to engage the international anti-corruption community with the DOJ’s “90-day policy sprint” to develop its whistleblower program. As part of this, NWC is asking anti-corruption groups to sign a letter to the DOJ urging it to follow the best practices of the Dodd-Frank programs.
The webinar will take place on April 23 at 10:30 EST and is free and open to the public. To register or for more information visit: https://kkc.com/doj-
