DOE Issues Proposed Rule on Whistleblower Retaliation by Contractors

In response to a scathing report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the Department of Energy has issued a proposed rule “clarifying that the Department can assess civil penalties against contractors and subcontractors for retaliating against any employee who raises concerns relating to nuclear safety.”
