The Whistleblowers of 1777

Stephen M. Kohn, the Executive Director of the National Whistleblower Center, initially uncovered the significance of this date for whistleblowers. About fifteen years ago, during his research for an amicus brief submitted by the NWC in favor of the False Claims Act’s constitutionality, Kohn came across a resolution passed by the Continental Congress. This resolution, established on July 30, 1778, is regarded as the earliest law in the world dedicated to the protection of whistleblowers.
